Will you be hit by a drunk driver, slip in the bathtub/shower, fall down icy steps in the winter, fall in a brush fire that you set without a permit in your friend's yard (like some idiot did in last week's questions), etc...?

Insurance is for unexpected items and not expected ones. You need insurance and whether that insurance covers the items you already see a doctor for....that's a different question.

Ask your insurance broker. I have links to brokers in every state on my site.

When you have insurance it makes it nicer even if you have a high deductible.
Ex: I went to the doctor and his charge was $150
The insurance only finds $75 to be reasonable and customary, so I only pay $75
Without insurance there is no way I could negotiate to pay the $75 on my own.

Note: We have a high deductible plan - we pay everything ourselves since we never reach the $4,000 deductible.
But the savings (discounts) we get for doctors visits are priceless.

This isn't your issue.

The issue is, is any company WILLING to give you health isnruance, with the stuff you already have wrong with you. And I guarantee you, if you're getting 4 MRI's a year (at approximately $4,000 each), no insurance company is going to offer you a private health insurance policy.

Oh, and the eye stuff isn't covered, under health insurance, if it's just a regular vision check. If it's medical, like you've got glaucoma? then it is.
