Yes, there is travel insurance. Call a travel agent when you book your trip and find out how to purchase it while you are still at home.

Check with "Traveler's Insurance Company," yes there is a real company with this name. I believe they offer medical policy to foreigners traveling in the US.

You DO NOT need to buy in your country of your origin. I have links on my site for many different travel medical plans.
Travel medical insurance is what you'd need.
